Dianne McCormick
Clinical Psychologist
Pronouns - She/Her
As a clinical psychologist, I offer psychotherapy for a variety of issues ranging from day-to-day stresses to more troubling emotional and psychological difficulties.
My specialist interests include relationship dynamics, anxiety, depression, couples therapy, and difficulties with anger.
I have benefitted significantly from my own experience of personal growth and psychotherapy, and similarly aim to create a warm, safe and thought-provoking space for my clients. Where appropriate, I share thoughts, perceptions and feelings that may shed new light, insight and direction on areas of exploration. Having adopted an integrated method of practice, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches informed by the needs of each individual client.
I have been in independent practice for 8 years and have extensive experience in working with:
Relationship difficulties (including sexual dysfunction)
Anxiety
Stress
Anger
Loss
Depression
Self-esteem difficulties
Parenting
Workplace interpersonal interaction
LGBTQI+ Inclusive - I bring a high level of comfort and proficiency in addressing LGBTQI+ matters. As a fervent supporter of human rights, I staunchly oppose prejudice and discrimination. My commitment is to provide a safe and welcoming space for all individuals.
While the approach used in therapy is important, the most fundamental element of effective therapy is creating a trusting and engaged therapeutic relationship. Should you schedule an appointment, during our first online session, it is likely you will be assessing whether it feels like a good fit for you. What is most important is that you feel comfortable working with me. Should you wish, you are welcome to arrange an introductory session to gain a sense of the psychotherapy process.

Feedback about therapy with Dianne
“Dianne helped my husband and I bridge seemingly impossible gaps in our understanding of each other and ability to communicate despite considerable differences. Dianne took us from a place where we encountered apparently unresolvable emotional blockages on a daily basis, from a place of frustration and chronic misunderstanding to a place where we were able to appreciate each other's feelings, show love to one another increasingly unreservedly, and prevent ourselves becoming emotionally hijacked.
She was completely and skilfully professional at all times, without ever faltering in compassion or humanity. She has given us the tools we needed to succeed in our marriage and we are hugely grateful for her help. I would recommend Dianne to any couple looking to improve and heal their relationship for the long term - this is one investment absolutely worth making.” Annonymous
“Dianne is really understanding and supportive from the beginning and she offered the advice and support that I needed in order to overcome my relationship challenges. I would highly recommend her kind and supportive support.” Sarah
