It is hard when you're not feeling at your best - whether it be a low mood, feeling vulnerable, anxious, or lonely - to even get through the day, never mind having a good one. Maybe you're not getting enough support, or even the right kind of support form your friends and loved ones. Talking to a counsellor offers a different kind of environment to everyday life, where you can be heard without judgement, and experience being accepted and understood. Under such conditions, and as trust is building, we can explore your material and work through whatever is getting in the way, while increasing your self-awareness.

Each client is different and has different needs. With careful consideration I tailor my approach to use whatever elements from each orientation I deem more appropriate to each individual's needs. And with a warm and non-judgemental attitude I hope to build a trusting and nurturing therapeutic relationship.

I work relationally, and thus the therapeutic relationship becomes part of the therapy. The way we relate and interact with other people has an impact on us, and can enhance or hinder our wellbeing.

Finding the right person to enter into therapy with is important, and it can make therapy more effective. The initial consultation is set up as part assessment part therapy session. You will see how we can work together and whether you would like to continue and commit to regular therapy sessions with me.
